Mission

"Music is one of humankind’s greatest creations.

"What other invention spans the ages and the continents so beautifully? Ideas born in a 17th-century brain can bring tears to 21st-century eyes. The flying hands and bold improvisations of a troupe of village drummers can electrify people 10,000 miles away... "

Our organization's stated mission is to "design, develop, build and operate a celebration of music & the human experience."

What do we mean by this?

Music crosses barriers. Connects peoples. Stands at the intersection of virtually every culture, history, and dream.

Shouldn't music have a museum that does the same?

Such a museum would not be built around a particular musical style, period or place. Instead, it would celebrate music itself. It would look at the whole of music. It would examine it from every angle - as science, art, time travel, worship, play, and more.

It would be a museum for everyone. Everywhere.

And to do that, it would leverage the most innovative technologies, yet be unashamedly human, inclusive, global...  even emotional.

It would complement other music venues, yet be like none you've seen before.

Okay, now change "would" to "will." This is what the Museum of Music will do.
