Ever play a silophone? It's easy: Sit at your computer, anywhere in the world, and make sounds echo through a massive, abandoned grain silo outside Montreal.

What do you call a concert piece for percussion orchestra, two pianists, seven electric bells, three airplane propellors, a siren and 16 synchronized player pianos? George Antheil's 1924 piece, "Ballet mécanique," recently revived after 75 silent years.

How do electronic musicians innovate in performance? Find out from Ben Neill, Sam Chillian, and Urban Rhythm.

Every seat a good seat.

There are no bad seats in the Music Space. It's a great listening environment. Both the architecture and acoustics create a surprisingly intimate feeling for a spacious hall.

Built from the ground up using sophisticated new technologies, it features the latest multi-channel sound standards and unparalleled audio reproduction system.

A world of surprises.

The space is always changing. In the Music Space you'll find an array of performances, both traditional and unconventional. Hear timeless classics, new works from artists around the world, or special events:

·  Mind Movies - The lights go out and the only pictures you see are in your imagination as we surround you with 3-D sound effects and music that paint pictures in your mind.

·  Move Music - You're invited to the dance, be it a techno-rave, ballroom dance competition, or step contest. Follow in the footsteps of visiting groups such as the Alvin Ailey Dancers or a Polynesian dance troupe.

·  Films of Note - Catch our year-round film festival of movies that are known for their notes…films that will be remembered for the great music they gave us.

·  Role Reversals - Everyone in the audience is given sheet music so that they can sing along as our on-stage chorus performs selections from familiar operas, oratorios, musicals, and more.

·  Laser Sound Shows - Enjoy spectacular laser animation sequences that are set to the sounds of favorite tunes from movies and popular music. (Not your father's laser light show!)

You're on!

Our Open Mike Competitions happen every Tuesday night. Winners receive prizes ranging from free Museum passes to rare recordings, celebrity visits, and even airtime on our radio station or free time in our recording studios.

If anyone has conducted a Beethoven performance and doesn't have to go to an osteopath, then there's something wrong.
