Atlanta Symphony Orchestra & Chorus Get 5 Grammy Nods [WINS 3!]
The ASO will be watching the 45th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 23, having been nominated for best classical album, best choral performance, and more.

Debuting in 1945, the ASO and its acclaimed Chorus have won 18 Grammy Awards over the years.

This year's 5 nominations:

One nomination for Best Classical Album [GRAMMY WIN!]
Vaughan Williams': A Sea Symphony (Symphony No. 1), Robert Spano, conductor, Norman Mackenzie, chorus director.

Two nominations for Best Choral Performance
Williams: A Sea Symphony [GRAMMY WIN!]
Carl Orff's: Carmina Burana, Donald Runnicles, conductor, Norman MacKenzie chorus director.

Two nominations for Best Engineered Classical Album
Williams: A Sea Symphony, Michael Bishop, engineer (Telarc Digital) [GRAMMY WIN!]
Orff: Carmina burana with Jack Renner engineer (Telarc Digital)
