Girl Emerges from 6-Year Coma at Bryan Adams Concert
We are not making this up: In Munich, Christiane Kittel entered a coma in 1997 at age 18. When her parents wheeled her to a concert of her pop star hero, she started a remarkable recovery.

The young woman collapsed at school with a lung embolism, and she remained in a vegetative state at a nearby university clinic for almost six years, under constant watch by her parents, who never gave up hope of seeing her recover.

When mother Adelheide heard that Bryan Adams would be performing in Regensburg, the town where the clinic is located, she knew she has to take Christiane there. With the help of the doctors and a local newspaper (which obtained the tickets), she took her daughter to the show.

While the music of her idol blared, Christiane started to move and respond to the situation. Back at the clinic, she called her mother's name for the first time in 6 years.

While more recovery lies ahead, doctors agree it has been a remarkable first step.
