Summertime, and Camp Living is Easy
Frost has only recently stopped biting fingers across parts of the US, but it's already time to start limbering up those fingers for summer music study. Music and arts camps across the US and Europe are filling up.

A reliable guide to summer music study appears annually in Acoustic Guitar magazine; for summer 2004, it's the April issue. Although focused on musical genres that involve guitars (but hey - that's a lot of genres!), AG lists hundreds of programs, workshops and arts camps for people of all ages.

This year's listings range from the Aspen Music Festival's intensive and highly selective classical guitar program, to Women's Hearts & Hands Guitar Camp in California (by and for women), from Camp Bluegrass in Texas, to Fur Peace Ranch in rural Ohio (run by former Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane guitarist Jorma Kaukonen).

Other listed programs include instrument making, traditional fiddle and dance, Hawaiian music and culture, family sessions, songwriting, jazz, ensemble worship, and more.
